Standing Committee members unsatisfied by Dahal’s reply, meeting to resume tomorrow

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Saturday answered the questions raised by the Standing Committee members on a political dossier presented by him.

While answering, Dahal remarked that the views expressed at the meeting have helped to further strengthen the party, speed up the unity process and direct the country to the right path, according to NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha.

Likewise, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel answered questions over the statute amendment.

Even after the reply, some of the members posed questions again and again. The meeting was postponed with a decision to sit again at 11 am Sunday as further clarification was necessary, Shrestha said.

Some of the leaders said the meeting was postponed as the members were at odds about the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement.

“Foreign Minister said that MCC is not a big deal,” leader Devendra Poudel told journalists after the meeting, “But, some of the members remained unsatisfied. Thus, the meeting was postponed until tomorrow as the further discussion was necessary.”
