17 workers trapped inside Rasuwagadhi tunnel



RASUWA: As many as 17 labors have been trapped inside the tunnel of the under construction Rasuwagadhi Hydro Project on Thursday night.

They  were stuck inside after the dry landslide that occurred in the construction site blocked the entrance of the tunnel.

The dry landslide occurred at 8:30 pm yesterday. “Eleven Nepalis and six Chinese nationals are among those trapped inside the tunnel. It was not possible to rescue at night. We start rescue operation since early Friday,” said Assistant Chief District Officer of Rasuwa district Sapana Kumari Bhattarai.

Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed in the incident site.

Rasuwagadhi hydro project of 111 megawatt has been taking place at Tatopani in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2.
