Police, Biplav cadre exchange fire, one injured

BHOJPUR: One cadre of the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led outfit was injured in an exchange of fire with police at Tyamke Maiyum Rural Municipality of the district on Tuesday.

Police opened fire in retaliation after one cadre opened fire at police personnel.

The injured is Tirtharaj Ghimire, 23, of Sadananda Municipality-2. He has sustained bullet injuries in his right leg.

Police recovered a pistol, five live bullets, a binocular, a detonator, a 20-meter detonator cord and explosives from Ghimire’s possession.

The law enforcement agency said other cadres of the outfit are on the lam adding they have launched a manhunt to nab them. Security personnel were fanned out in the area following reports of increased activities of the Biplav outfit.
