KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Circle, Maharajgunj has arrested a woman on the charge of attempting to bribe police.

Acting on a tip-off that illegal activities were taking place at a Bashundhara-based guest house, a squad of police apprehended 40-year-old Sommaya Rai, the owner of Foodland and Guest House on Tuesday night.

Police arrested Rai after she offered bribe to the police in the course of carrying out raid on the guest house, said DSP Umesh Lamsal.

Rai has been sent to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority for necessary action, said police.
