Govt declares public holiday on Ram Navami



KATHMANDU: The government has declared a public holiday on Ram Navami (April 6) for all government offices and public bodies.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung announced the decision while making public the outcomes of the cabinet meeting held on the same date.

In addition to the holiday declaration, the government has decided to form a negotiation team led by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to discuss receiving grant assistance for the School Sector Reform Program through the World Bank.

The cabinet also made several key appointments during the meeting. Naresh Raj Aryal has been appointed as the banking member of the Debt Recovery Tribunal. Similarly, Dinesh Prasad Bhatta from Baitadi has been appointed as the executive chief of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

Furthermore, the board of directors of Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited has been directed to appoint Yadunath Paudel from Arghakhanchi as the managing director. Additionally, Pavitra Subedi from Surkhet and Ram Sharan Sapkota from Makawanpur have been appointed as members of the Teachers Service Commission.
