KATHMANDU: Senior leader of Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Madhav Kumar Nepal in a note of dissent registered in the party on Tuesday, has asked party chairman and Prime Minister K P Oli to leave either one post.

Nepal has been expressing disenchantment over the decisions of Sunday’s party secretariat meeting that appointed party senior leader Jhalanath Khanal as the third-ranked leader.

Senior leader, in his 7-point note of dissent, has voiced dissatisfaction over the decision read out by party Chairman Oli on Sunday after the secretariat meeting.

The secretariat meeting had named the chiefs and deputy chiefs of the NCP sister organizations. Former Prime Minister Nepal has also been demanding the formation of politburo for long.

It should also be noted that the NCP has appointed Bam Dev Gautam as the party’s vice chairman, widely observed as a breach of the party statute. The party statute does not have the provision of a vice-chairman.

Meanwhile, the secretariat meeting of NCP called for today afternoon was postponed for 11 am on Wednesday citing ‘lack of preparations’.
