‘Trauma Society of Nepal’ formed under leadership of Dr. Pramod Lamichhane



KATHMANDU: The Trauma Society of Nepal has been formed under the chairmanship of orthopedic surgeon Dr. Pramod Lamichhane.

The society was established in the presence of medical professionals involved in orthopedic care, trauma management and trauma surgery. Senior physician Prof. Dr. Ramesh Prasad Singh has been appointed patron of the newly formed organization.

The executive committee includes Dr. Shailendra Kumar Duwal Shrestha as Senior Vice-Chairperson, Dr. Hemanta Kumar Gupta as Vice-Chairperson, Dr. Bijayendra Adhikari as General Secretary, Dr. Alok Pandey as Treasurer, Dr. Pawin Thapa as Joint Secretary and Dr. Sanjit Jha as Joint Treasurer.

Committee members include Dr. Saroj Singh, Dr. Om Prakash Chaudhary, Dr. Rajiv Jha, Dr. Toyaraj Bhatta, Dr. Lalit Chaudhary, Dr. Sudip Khanal and Dr. Sarthak Nepal.

The Society has also appointed provincial representatives: Dr. Rupesh Jung Belbase (Koshi), Dr. Chandra Bhushan Yadav (Madhesh), Dr. Manoj Kandel (Bagmati), Dr. Jhapendra Pokharel (Gandaki), Dr. Prakriti Raj Kandel (Lumbini), Dr. Pujan Kumar Rokaya (Karnali) and Dr. Mandeep Pathak (Sudurpaschim).

According to the Trauma Society of Nepal, there are currently around 900 orthopedic specialists practicing across the country, many of whom are involved in treating patients with severe injuries resulting from accidents and disasters.
