Nepal Bank hands over Rs 1.5 million to David Lama Biwak



KATHMANDU: Nepal Bank Limited has handed over 1.5 million rupees to David Lama Biwak.

David Lama Biwak was the first Biwak in the country which was constructed at Upper Jabo at the height of 5080 meters.

It is a shelter that is much stronger, classic, modern, reliable, popular and based on advanced rust and waterproof technology.

It is believed that the Biwak will be the lifeline for the trekkers, porters, travelers, who go to Thame from Rolwaling crossing the Tashi Lapcha Pass.

The Biwak is initiated by Josef Einwaller, Stephan Erich Keck and Phurba Tenzing Sherpa and engineered and developed by Ralf Ohnmacht.

Speaking at the check handover program, Nepal Bank’s CEO Krishna Bahadur Adhikari, said that the bank was pleased to support the Biwak.

Likewise, record-holder mountaineer Purba Tenjing Sherpa explained the ups and downs during the installation of Biwak.
