PM Oli lays foundation stone of federal parliament building

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of federal parliament building, which will be built at Putali Bagaincha inside the Singha Durbar premises at a cost of Rs 5.30 billion.

The building will have two main halls for both the Houses – the Lower House and the Upper House. Meanwhile, it will also have a parliament secretariat, party offices, and parliamentary committees.

The Parliament is currently conducted at the New Baneshwor-based International Conference Center (ICC) building by paying an annual rent of Rs 150 million.
