Searing heat cliams 138 in India



INDIA: The searing temperature has claimed the lives of 138 in the last three days in India. Hospitals have been a chock-a-block with patients.

The temperature of provincial capital Patna has reached 45 degree Celsius. Government schools and other construction works have been banned from 11 am to 4 pm invoking Article 144 of the Constitution.

According to media reports, five people died in Nalanda and 4 others in Aurgabad, taking the total to 115 people in Bihar. As many as 61 people died on Saturday alone.

Over 300 people have fallen due to extreme heat.
