8 killed as fire engulfs hotel in Ukraine



KIEV: Fire engulfed a private hotel in southern Ukrainian port of Odessa killing at least eight people and injuring 10 more.

According to Ukraine’s emergencies service, the fire occurred shortly after midnight at the hotel Tokyo Star that has 273 rooms.

It took firefighters about three hours to extinguish the fire, which had raged over an area of about 1,000 square meters, media report stated.
