Don Rajendra Lama arrested from Koteshwor



KATHMANDU:  Rajendra Lama has been arrested on the charge of extorting money from businessmen, entrepreneurs and industrialists in the Kathmandu Valley.

Lama was arrested from Koteshwor after businessmen complained that Lama had been extorting money from them, police said.

He has already served a three-year jail term for attacking an All Neal National Free Students Union leader with a khukuri.

He is known as an area don of Koteshwor and Baneshwor and was engaged in extortion.

“We have arrested Rajendra Lama for extorting money from businessmen, entrepreneurs and industrialists based in Koteshwor and Baneshwor areas,” said SSP Shyam Gyawali, spokesperson of Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari.
