Nepal Police showcases new water cannons



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police on Thursday showcased five newly-procured water cannons at Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal. IGP Sarbendra Khanal and other high-ranking police officials were present on the occasion.

The law enforcement agency had only one water cannon that is a major tool to disperse unruly crowds and is also useful in extinguishing fire.

The newly-purchased water cannons can fit 18 teargas canisters and are of 7,400 liters capacity. The cannons can shoot a high-velocity stream of water to a distance of 55 meters from the upper can and to a distance of 30 meters from the lower can.
