Nepal Communist Party’s downfall imminent: Dr. Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Federal Council of the Samajwadi Party Nepal Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that if the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) wins the November 30 by-elections it would further contribute to the autocracy and fascism.

In a political dossier presented at the meeting of the Federal Council of the party held in Kathmandu on Thursday, Bhattarai portrayed the by-elections as a barometer to measure NCP’s popularity.

“The by-elections are the barometers to measure the popularity of the ruling party,” Bhattarai said in the dossier, “If the outcome is in the favor of NCP despite ineffective, corrupt and inaction nature of the government, it would contribute to autocratic and fascism. It will not benefit anyone”

He added that the downfall of NCP was imminent. The former prime minister argued that NCP won’t remain as a strong party.

“The party that is distressed ideologically and philosophically can’t remain strong only the base of an organizational structure. It will head for a downfall in coming years or decades,” he said in the dossier.
