CIAA raids DoT, arrests section officer

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided the Department of Transport Management office, Tinkune on Wednesday.

CIAA officials have arrested section officer Sukra Prasad Bhattarai of the motorcycle section along with a bribe amount.

The anti-graft body arrested Bhattarai on the charge of corruption. He was found to be taking bribes from motorcycle recondition representatives while assuring them of smooth services.

CIAA officials have also arrested Kiran Deula, Uttam Bikram Shahi, Ramesh Kumar KC, and Suresh Chhusyaki – the representatives of the recondition shop houses.

The anti-graft body has launched a necessary investigation.
