Nepal Army defuses socket bomb in Sarlahi

SARLAHI: A bomb disposal squad of Nepal Army (NA) has defused a socket bomb found in the bank of Kamala River at Karjanha Municipality-3 in Siraha district on Monday morning.

NA’s Sherdal Battalion stationed at Choharwa in the district had disposed of the bomb, according to the Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Siraha, Uma Prasad Chaturbedi.

The bomb was traced by the workers breaking stones that were covered by the sand. The workers had immediately brought the incident to the knowledge of police.

SP Chaturbedi said that by the look of the things, the bomb might have been swept away by the river rather than someone intentionally keeping it at the river bank.
