NCP secretariat meet put off for Thursday

KATHMANDU: A secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party scheduled for today has been postponed after the top-notch leaders were  divided over the leadership appointment to the School Department of the party.

Chairpersons KP Sharma Oli, Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal did not strike a deal on the issues related to the leadership of the Department of School.

According to party sources, the meeting has been adjourned for Thursday after the former UML leaders were divided over the issue despite flexibility maintained by the pro-Maoist leaders.

Chairman Dahal had recommended secretariat member Jhala Nath Khanal as the chief of the School Department. However, the former UML leaders were divided over the proposal of Khanal’s appointment as the chief of the School Department.
