President of Bangladesh Hamid arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid has arrived here this afternoon on a four-day official goodwill visit to Nepal.

He is paying an official visit from November 12 to 15 at the invitation of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

Bangladesh President Hamid was received by Nepal’s President Bhandari at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon his arrival.

President Hamid will also discuss matters of mutual interest with his Nepali counterpart on Wednesday. President Bhandari will also host a banquet in honor of her Bangladeshi counterpart and his delegation.

Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Oli, Chairperson of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali and Nepal’s senior political leaders will call on President Hamid.

President Hamid is also scheduled to visit Pokhara and some archaeological, cultural and historical sites in Kathmandu Valley, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
