DADELDHURA: An assistant forest range officer of forest range office at BP Nagar, Doti has been arrested with Rs 326,000 in bribe.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested Surendra Chandra DC with the bribe he had received from a forest consumers committee member, said District Police Office, Dadeldhura.

DC was caught red-handed from Bhatkanda of Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality-1 on Sunday evening.

However, Kiran Malla, son of ward chairman Bhajan Singh  of Jorayal Rural Municipality-1 claimed that the money was his – not the bribe money received by DC.

“The money mine. DC had not received it as bribe,” said Malla. Malla is a constructional professional.
