Rain likely in hilly and mountainous areas



KATHMANDU: The country is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

As a result, hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy.

This afternoon, hilly and mountainous regions across all provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, with similar conditions in parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.

Light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in these regions. There is also a possibility of windstorms in some areas of the Terai.

For tonight, the Division forecasts generally cloudy weather in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other regions will remain partly cloudy.

Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is expected at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Additionally, moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning may occur at some locations in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim, while light precipitation is possible at a few places in similar regions of other provinces.

The Division has urged the public and concerned authorities to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather information, particularly due to the likelihood of gusty winds in parts of the Terai.
