Govt awards Rs 1.75 bln contract without bidding process



KATHMANDU: The government has awarded a contract worth over Rs 1.75 billion to publish national identity cards to a controversial French company IDEMIA, a news in Kantipur daily said.

The Department of National Identity Card and Civil Registration under the Ministry of Home Affairs signed the contract with the French company on Wednesday night, said Shiva Raj Joshi, spokesperson at the Department.
