Heavy rains pose risk of inundation in Tarai, landslides in hilly areas

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has advised to take caution as the monsoon is active in all parts of the country since Thursday night.

The level of water has increased in the rives due to heavy rains across the country since last night. It has posed risk to the villages in the hilly area and inundation in Tarai.

Meanwhile, the MFD has forecast partly to generally cloudy weather with chances of heavy rains in most parts of the country .

Similarly, it has forecast fully cloudy weather in most parts of the country with chances of light rains in western, central and eastern parts of the country and heavy rains in few parts of the country.

Meanwhile, most parts of Biratanagar have been inundated due to periodic monsoon rains.  Koshi Zonal Hospital has been waterlogged.

Likewise, Painma of Tribeni Municipality-9 of Bajura district has been at risk of floods after landslides blocked Budhiganga River. Landslides have been taking place due to torrential monsoon that has been continuing since Wednesday evening, said locals.
