State Assembly members receive training on use of social media



BIRATNAGAR: A total of 18 State Assembly (SA) members in State 1 are undergoing training on the proper use of social media and social networking.

The two-day training organized by Innovative Vision in association with the Parliament Cooperation Project commenced today.

State Assembly Spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Bhandari said social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Viber among others and internet-based media were very powerful mediums.

Emphasizing the positive attitude, he viewed that the journalists should not be biased and but use social media to disseminate credible and accurate news to as many audiences promptly rather than spreading misleading ones.

Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) State 1 committee president Bikram Luitel, Parliamentary Journalist Forum’s Chairperson Ganesh Lamsal, Innovative Vision’s Chairperson Krishna Prasad Sigdel among other trainers univocally called for caution while using social media as the misuse of social media could tarnish anyone’s image in no time.
