NCP Secretariat meeting underway at Dhumbarahi party office

KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is underway at the party central office in Dhumbarahi.

Chaired by NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the meeting is discussing contentious issues within the party, a party insider said.

Prime Minister K P Oli is, however, not in the meeting owing to health issues.

Even though the meeting was earlier scheduled to be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, the venue was later changed as PM Oli is learned to have said he would not be able to participate in the meeting.

On Sunday morning, Dahal had discussed the agenda for the meeting with senior party leaders at his residence in Khumaltar.

Sunday’s informal meeting was participated by party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Ishwor Pokharel, among others.

Leaders of the party discussed the agenda for Monday’s meeting as well as the appointment of members in different party departments.
