PM Oli off to Vietnam on an official visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left for two ASEAN countries – Vietnam and Cambodia – on Thursday.

Prime Minister Oli flew to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Speaker of the federal parliament Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timalsina, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwar Pokharel  bade him farewell at the VVIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport prior to his departure.

A squad of Nepal Army had offered Oli a guard of honor.

He will hold a bilateral meeting with his counterpart Phuc as well as with the chairman of the National Assembly during his five-day visit. Oli will remain in Vietnam from May 9 to 13.

Oli will head to Cambodia after Vietnam where he will stay for three days from May 13 to 17.
