Visit Nepal Year: 10,000 people to be trained



KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is to conduct tourism training targeting 5,000 people in view of the Visit Nepal Year 2020.

According to NTB, the training aims at promoting the Visit Nepal Year to realize the aim of bringing in two million tourists during the period.

Training will be given to taxi and tourist vehicle drivers, nature guides, homestay operation training in villages, Russian and Chinese language, local tours, trekking guides, and mountain leaders to make the VNY successful.

Similarly, the primary treatment for tourists, immigration service, Nepali handicrafts making skill, capacity enhancement, sanitation and health practices, proper management and promotion of tourism business, digital marketing and production, and women-focused tourism business will also be covered by the training package.

According to NTB Manager Santosh Kumar Ghimire, people receiving the training will represent tourism-related organizations.

Ghimire said NTB has allocated Rs 20 million to conduct the Visit Nepal Year promotional training.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is also preparing to provide additional 5,000 human resources for tourism training.
