Purified drinking water to all by 2030: Minister Magar

DANG: Minister for Water Supply Bina Magar has said that the government was working to provide basic drinking water facility to all citizens.

Speaking at an orientation program organized in Tulsipur on Thursday, she said that her ministry was working to provide purified clean drinking water to all by 2030.

“We are working to manage drinking water supply to all villages and cities reeling under water shortage,” Minister Magar said, “It is a fundamental right of every citizen to get clean drinking water. The government is serious to ensure the constitutional right.”

She added that the government was studying the feasibility of big drinking water projects in different parts of the country including Dang that are facing water shortage.

“We are currently discussing modalities on financing such big projects,” she said,” The government has allocated enough budget for education, health and drinking water which is praiseworthy.”

Also speaking at the program, National Assembly member Komal Oli expressed her concerns saying that water sources are drying due to global warming.

Likewise, Whip of Nepal Communist Party Parliamentary Party Shanta Chaudhary drew the attention of the government on the shortage of drinking water and irrigation facility in the district
