NCP lawmakers barred from deliberations over policies and programs

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has barred its lawmakers to take part in the deliberations over the policies and program unveiled by the government for the next fiscal year.

Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and deputy parliamentary party leader Subas Nembang have directed the lawmakers to that end citing lack of time, Annapurna Post Daily reported.

During a parliamentary party meeting on Saturday, lawmakers had demanded that they should be allowed to air their views over the language and data used in policies and programs. They had demanded the government should clarify their raised questions.

The parliament is set to vote on policies and programs on Tuesday. The trio has directed the party’s lawmakers to vote for the policies and programs.
