SURKHET: A team of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has arrived in Surkhet to study about the alleged mass killing of cattle.

Several cows and oxen said to be transported to Dailekh from Nepalgunj were found stranded in the jungle with some earlier deaths a few days ago.

The team under Sagarmani Pathak, Under-Secretary at MoHA visited the site from where cattle were pushed down. The team also inquired about the incident with stakeholders concerned.

According to Pathak, the investigations into the case had begun from Banke. The team will also visit Shirsthan of Dailekh where the cattle were to be taken.

He assured of coming up with the facts surrounding the incident. Likewise, the team also conducted a monitoring of the Nepalgunj-based Kanji House on Monday from where the cattle were collected.

The four-member committee formed on Saturday is entrusted to investigate and present a report within the 15 days.
