KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is hearing a high-profile case on Ncell capital gains tax on Tuesday.
A full bench comprising five Justices Tej Bahadur KC, Purushottam Bhandari, Dambar Bahadur Shahi, Sushma Lata Mathema and Manoj Kumar Sharma is hearing the case.
Earlier, on February 6, the SC had issued an order in the name of the Nepal government to recover the capital gains tax within three months.
Following the Supreme Court’s order, the large tax payers office had determined Rs 39,060,684,715 as capital gains tax and dispatched a circulation to clear the tax within a week.
On April 22, NC had filed a writ petition in the SC arguing that the capital gains tax determined by the large tax payers office by is not fact-based.
