Laxman Tamang wins gold medal in karate event



KATHMANDU: Laxman Tamang has won a gold medal in Karate (kumite) event of the South Asian Games (SAG) on Monday.

Tamang bagged the medal in the 55-kg category by defeating Bangladeshi player by 1-0 point in the final.

Tamang had defeated Warnakula Suriya of Sri Lanka in the semifinals. With this, the number of gold medals for Nepal in the karate event reaches four.
