NCP fails to finalize candidates for by-elections



KATHMANDU: A secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) held at Baluwatar on Saturday to finalize candidates for by-elections to be held on November 30 ended inconclusively.

The meeting that was held for some three hours discussed names of possible candidates for the by-elections and a final decision will be made on Sunday, according to NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha.

NCP has set a standard, according to which, the candidates for the House of Representatives, provinces and sub-metropolitan cities will be chosen by the central committee, while that of rural municipalities will be decided by the provincial committee.

Similarly, in the case of ward chairs, the district level committee of the concerned district will make a decision.

The meeting also discussed the health condition of Prime Minister and Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, according to sources.
