Four former APF IGs acquitted of graft

KATHMANDU: Four former Inspector Generals (IGs) of Armed Police Force (APF) have been cleared of graft.

A bench comprising Chairman of Special Court Baburam Regmi and members Dwarikaman Joshi and Pramod Kumar Shrestha Baidhya acquitted them of corruption charges on Monday.

Those cleared of the charges are former IGs Koshraj Onta, Sailendra Kumar Shrestha, Basudev Oli and Sanat Kumar Basnet.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a graft case against them for misappropriating millions from state coffers by producing fake bills in the name of sending consignments to APF units.
