Qatar Airways announces flexible booking policies

Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, has announced flexible booking policy that allows unlimited date changes.

With the new policy, passengers now can change their destination as often as they need if it is within 5,000 miles of the original one.

The airline will not charge any fare differences for travel completed before 31 December 2020, after which fare rules will apply, the airlines company said.

Similarly, all tickets booked for travel up to 31 December 2020 will be valid for two years from the date of issuance. Alternatively, Qatar Airways’ passengers can swap their ticket for Qmiles to use however they like, or exchange it for a travel voucher with 10% additional value, which will also remain valid for two years.

Sindhupalchowk bans transport of fruits, vegetables from outside

The district of Sindhupalchowk has banned the import of vegetables and fruits from beyond the district in view of increasing risks of COVID-19.

A meeting of the COVID-19 Disaster Management Centre prohibited the transport of vegetables and fruits from outside district citing security threats stemming from COVID-19 outbreak.

Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal said that along with the move security vigilance has been stepped up along the entry points of the district. Dhakal shared that the decision was taken to promote sale of local vegetables and fruits in the market place and call on local levels to take up the coordinating roles.

The vegetables and fruits produced at the local level would be sufficient for the district consumers, he added.

NC forms committee on COVID-19 impact on investment, infrastructure and employment

Main opposition party in the parliament Nepali Congress (NC) has formed a 15-member special committee to study about the coronavirus impact on investment, infrastructure and employment in the country.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba formed the committee entrusting it to submit report on the party’s opinion about the investment, infrastructure and employment situation and the measures to be taken.

The committee ‘Special Committee on Investment, Infrastructure and Employment Perspective and Sustainable Project’ will submit a report on the coronavirus pandemic effect on various sectors of economy to the party’s central committee.
