200 Nepalis stranded at Rupaidiha rescued

KATHMANDU: Nepali nationals stranded at Nepal-India border Rupaidiha due to lockdown have been rescued.

A total of 200 people of Karnali Province who had been left in high and dry on the Nepal-India border have been ferried to their respective districts.

They had gone to India for employment. They had been kept in quarantines set up at Bahraij and Nanpara.

Indian security forces dropped at Rupaidiha on Thursday midnight, according to Gagan Bahadur Shahi of Hima rural municipality of Jumla. .

The stranded people have been ferried to their respective districts by the security personnel in coordination with the Chief District Officer of Banke, said CDO Durga Banjade of Jumla district.

Preparations are underway to keep them at the quarantine of Karnali Technical Education.
