PM Oli issues ‘whip’ to NCP MPs to support govt



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has issued a written directive to all parliamentarians of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to defend the government during the budget session of the Parliament.

Amidst the speculations about the floor cross due to the unpopular activities of the government, PM Oli, who is also the parliamentary party leader of the ruling NCP, has issued a written statement asking all the MPs to support the government plans and programs during the forthcoming session.

PM Oli had held a talk with Prachanda, another Chairman of the Party on Friday morning.

Similarly, he had discussed the strategy for the budget session to Parliamentary Party’s deputy leader, Subash Nembang, Chief Whip Dev Gurung, Whip Shanta Chaudhary. PM Oli has also talked to Dina Nath Sharma, the Parliamentary Party leader at the National Assembly and Khim Lal Bhattarai the Chief Whip at the upper house as preparation for the coming session.

Lately, PM Oli is facing hard time within the party and many MPs are said to be against the PM especially blaming him of disregarding the party instruction and failure to control corruption in the cabinet itself.
