Finance Minister Wagle forms committee to hold talks with microfinance victims



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has formed a committee to hold talks with protesting microfinance victims.

Through a ministerial decision on Thursday, Minister Wagle formed a negotiation team under the coordination of Mahesh Acharya, joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance.

He has instructed the committee to begin discussions with the victims from Thursday.

The committee includes Joint Secretary Binod Kumar Bhattarai from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Joint Secretary Suresh Panthi from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Executive Director Ramu Poudel from Nepal Rastra Bank.

Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Bolraj Acharya has been appointed as the member secretary of the committee.

The committee’s first meeting is scheduled to be held at the Ministry of Finance shortly, following which talks with the protesting microfinance victims will begin.
