Death toll in Sunsari clash rises to two



KATHMANDU: The death toll from the violence in Kaptanganj, Dewanganj Rural Municipality of Sunsari, has risen to two after another injured youth died during treatment.

Jay Prakash Mehta, 22, of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, died on Thursday afternoon while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, according to Morang Police.

Morang Police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Makendra Kumar Mishra confirmed the death.

The violence, which erupted on Sunday night, left 22 people, including police personnel, injured. Of them, 10 sustained gunshot wounds.

Eight people who suffered gunshot injuries are still receiving treatment at various hospitals in Biratnagar.
