Life insurance of Rs 3 million for medics



POKHARA: Gandaki Province government has decided to construct Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in all 11 districts of the province.

A meeting of Province Cabinet on Tuesday decided to that effect concluding that lack of ICUs is creating hurdles for the treatment of coronavirus and other infectious diseases.

All the ICUs in the province have been centralized in Pokhara. According to Gandaki Province Health Directorate, the province has 54 ventilators.

Likewise, the meeting also decided to provide insurance coverage worth Rs three million for medics involved in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

In case of the death of any such frontline worker, the next to kin will receive the insurance amount of Rs three million.
