COVID-19 death toll reaches 8, 215 in Italy; 718 die in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Italy has reported 718 deaths in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus, taking the total death toll to 8,215.

With 6, 203 new cases in a single day, a total of confirmed COVID-19 cases have reached 80, 589 in Italy, of which 3, 612 are critical.

According to latest figures collated by Johns Hopkins University, 10, 361 have returned home after recovery.

Similarly, 718 have died in a single day in Spain taking the total death toll to 4, 365.

With 8, 271 new cases, the total number of people infected with the novel virus has reached 57, 786, of which 3, 166 are critical.

A total of 7,015 have recovered after treatment.
