10 held for breaking lockdown in Chitwan

KATHMANDU: Chitwan Police has arrested 10 people in the district for breaking lockdown imposed by the federal government to minimize the spread of coronavirus.

Police have arrested 10 people who came out of their houses by breaking the injunction clamped by the government, said SP Nanti Raj Gurung, chief of District Police Office, Chitwan.

Police took them under control from Narayangadh, Tandi and Bharatpur of Chitwan district.

The federal government has imposed a one-week-long lockdown starting 6 am today, maintaining that those who violate the order will be penalized as per the existing law.
