Fire guts property over Rs 20 million in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Property worth more than 20 million has been destroyed in fire incidents that occurred at different places of Kathmandu Valley.

Laxmi cotton industry belonging to Surendra Khatri at Chandragiri municipality-10 caught fire this morning.
Property worth Rs 2 million was destroyed by a fire started due to electric leakage. Fire destroyed the machine and refined cotton, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kathmandu, Hobindra Bogati.

Similarly, property worth around Rs 6 million has been destroyed when the fire broke out at a furniture factory belonging to Dinesh Kumar Thakur, 32, at Narephant of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

Windows and doors of locals–Tukanath Khanal and Sarada Gautam, a parked motorcycle (Ba 3 Kha 6507) suffered partial damages in the same incident. An engine of taxi (Ba 2 Ja 4826) was completely destroyed in the incident.

Likewise, around 12.5 million property was gutted by fire when Siddhartha Enterprises and Hardware Shop of Sandip Koirala at Lalitpur Metropolitan City-1 caught fire due to electric short circuit on Thursday night, said police.
