Central Campus of Technology produces hand sanitizer



ITAHARI: With a view to increasing local sanitization against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Microbiology Department of Central Campus of Technology (CCT) has started producing hand sanitizers in its laboratory.

The Dharan-based science and technology campus in State 1 has begun to produce sanitizer with the assistance of the local government.

Dhiren Limbu, the Head of The Department (HOD) the microbiology, informed that the Dharan Sub Metropolitan City provided them with all necessary raw materials, and as a result, they produced 100 liters of hand sanitizer in the first phase.

Limbu added that they are producing at least 200 liters a day.

According to him, one liter of hand sanitizer could be produced in 10 minutes.

Experts at the CCT said raw materials such as ethyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, glycerol, and distilled water are required to produce the hand sanitizer.

He said that the trained students of the faculty and available technical resources are enough to produce hand sanitizer to meet local demand.
