Five persons’ death in Mahottari frightens entire village



MAHOTTARI: Death of five persons in three days at the then Manara village of Manarasiswa municipality-1 in Mahottari has intimidated the entire settlements.

Doctors, meanwhile, have said that the persons died from excessive alcohol consumption.

Locals, however, suspected doctor’s findings, saying they might have died from other causes.

The deceased, Ragho Mandal, Brahmadev Mandal, Bikas Mandal, Sukha Chandra Mandal, 45, and Ganga Singh of the locality had consumed locally brewed alcohol on March 10 during Holi festival.

Chairperson of the municipality-1, Shashi Bhushan Chaudhary, said doctors involved in their treatment confirmed that they died from alcohol consumption.

However, Chief of Mahottari police office, Shyam Krishna Adhikari claimed that they might have died from other causes.
