Construction of landfill site in Banchare Danda in limbo

KATHMANDU: The construction of Banchare Danda Landfill Site located on the border of Nuwakot and Dhading districts is still in limbo.

No progress has been still made for the construction of the landfill site that is expected to be used to manage the waste of Kathmandu Valley for some 100 years.

The work of the first phase should have been completed by October/November. But, no progress has been so far made.

Following that, Minister for Urban Development, Rambir Manandhar had directed the concerned to operate the landfill site by February/March.

But, still, there are doubts over the operation of the landfill site.
