KATHMANDU: Lawmakers of the House of Representatives (HoR) have drawn the attention of the government to immediately rescue Nepalis from China’s coronavirus affected areas.

Demanding time in today’s HoR meeting, they suggested the government to rescue Nepalis by making immediate arrangement of ‘quarantine’, where they should be kept for few days after bringing them back, as per criteria set by World Health Organisation.

Lawmaker Sarita Giri drew government’s attention to bring Nepalis trapped in China’s coronavirus affected area back to the country immediately, adding that the issue has not got priority in the Parliament.

Similarly, another lawmaker Prem Suwal said that locals of Kharipati of Bhaktapur district have protested the decision of keeping the Nepalis brought from coronavirus affected areas at kharipati-based training centre of Nepal Electricity Authority.

He also drew government’s attention to keep such quarantine away from human settlement.

Likewise, Asha Kumari BK demanded the government to resolve problem of food crisis immediately in Saipal rural municipality of Bajhang by supplying food from helicopter as starvation is seen there due to disruption of transport service following snowfall.
