NC obstructs SA session

BIRATNAGAR: The State-1 Assembly today failed to continue its proceedings due to the obstruction from the Nepali Congress party.

With the commencement of the session, the NC lawmakers stood from their respective seats as a mark of protest.

This is the third time NC obstructed the SA over the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)’s move to file a case against party leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar on the Lalita Niwas land grab scam.

The CIAA last Wednesday had filed a lawsuit against 175 people including Gachchhadar at the Special Court.

Though Speaker Pradeep Bhandari urged NC parliamentarians for their cooperation in keeping the SA running, they refused to take their seats.

The session has been adjourned till 1:00 pm tomorrow.
