DPR being readied for Saatdobato-Maharajgunj metro rail



KATHMANDU: Work for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed Saatdobato-Maharajgunj metro rail has started.

The Department of Railways has already assigned the responsibility for preparing the DPR to a company.

A feasibility study for the 12-km long railway has already concluded.

The proposed railway will start from Saatdobato and reaches Maharajgunj after passing through Ratna Park.

The Department of Railways is also preparing for the construction of Maharajgunj-Budhanilakantha and Saatdobato-Khokana Railways.

But, feasibility studies for the railway lines are yet to be carried out.

The railway line is being constructed targeting a dray port that is currently under construction in Chobhar.
