Truck kills Nepali minor boy, injures mother in New York



KATHMANDU: A Nepali minor boy died while his mother sustained critical injuries after being hit by a garbage truck in New York.

A truck carrying garbage struck 10-year-old Shreejal Panthi and his mother Mina Panthi, according to newyork.cbslocal.com, a local news portal.

Critically injured Shreejal, who was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in New York, died in course of treatment. Mina is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

The ill-fated truck hit them at 57 Avenue near 97 Street on Tuesday morning while Mina was taking her son to school.

Panthi family had been staying in Lefrak City in Queens for last few years.
