Dasarath Stadium all ready to kick off VNY 2020

KATHMANDU: Dasarath Stadium, the venue for the inauguration of the Visit Nepal Year 2020, has been cleaned up and decorated.

Nepal’s national flag, the official banner with the VNY logo and large balloons have been installed all around the stadium ground.

The VNY 2020 will be inaugurated at 4:00 pm tomorrow by President Bidya Devi Bhandari, amidst a special ceremony to be held at the Stadium.

The inauguration will also take place simultaneously in all the seven States of the Country. The inauguration in Kathmandu will also be transmitted live in the States and different locations of the valley.

The Prime Minister, the Chief Justice, Ministers, senior political party leaders, heads of the diplomatic mission, members of parliament and other dignitaries are scheduled to attend the inaugural event.

Tourism Ministers from neighboring India and China, and from Myanmar are also arriving for the event. High-ranking officials from 19 different countries are taking part in the inauguration.

Furthermore, 50 media persons representing different foreign news agencies and media outlets will be reporting about the event across the globe. Some 12,000 people have been invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The Federal Government is observing 2020 as Visit Nepal Year with a goal to bring in 2 million tourists. It will be officially inaugurated on the first day of the New Year 2020.

Meanwhile, on the eve of VNY 2020, illumination will be carried out in different parts of the valley including in the tourist hub of Thamel, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
